Welcome to Current Concepts in Emergency Care.  2009 marks our 30th year of excellence in medical education.

Target Audience
This course is targeted to Emergency, Primary Care, and Critical Care Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics and Physician Assistants.

Course Objectives
Our objective is to present a program that addresses many of the controversial areas of emergency care. All of Sunday evening will be devoted to toxicology. After attending this year's program you should be better able to differentiate and treat the septic patient, evolving MRSA pneumonia, and effectively use imaging and ultrasound in the ED.  We will discuss the issues of litigation, wound management, illness in the returning traveler and describe the management of sports trauma, and complications related to cardiac devices. We will present ways to use technology to improve cardiac care. Options for pain management and how to manage injuries and infections of the eye will be described.  You will be able to discuss the management of GI bleeding, the controversies surrounding pulmonary embolus, and new technologies for intubation. A review of recent literature and LLSA articles will keep you current. On a limited basis you will experience hands-on exposure to the use of ultrasound for vascular access and abdominal pain. All meeting syllabus material will be provided on a CD in PDF format, so bring your laptops.

In order to prevent your missing out, we are offering an Early Bird Registration to all who register by November 1.  This early registration not only saves you money, but also guarantees you a place at this year's conference.
